Kathmandu, 31st Shrawan: The Nepal Stock Market has set a new record today with the trading volume surpassing NPR 30 billion. This marks the highest trading volume ever recorded, reflecting a significant milestone in the market.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the NEPSE index, which measures overall market performance, rose by 43.05 points, reaching a new high of 3081. The Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of large-cap companies, also saw an increase of 16.01 points, closing at 535.51.
A total of 68,980,346 shares were traded, amounting to a value of NPR 29.95 billion, highlighting the market's stability and growing investor interest.
NEPSE reported that the shares of Butwal Power Company, National Insurance Company, and Modi Energy saw a 10% increase, hitting the positive circuit breaker. Investors in Nepal Investment Mega Bank and NMB Bank also enjoyed significant gains, with share prices rising by 9.64% and 9.42%, respectively.
On the downside, investors in Nepal Finance, Vindhyabhasini Hydropower, Subham Power, Mid Solu Hydropower, and Upper Hewakhola Hydropower faced declines, with share prices dropping by 10%, 7.22%, 7.10%, 6.28%, and 5.68%, respectively.
Moreover, the NEPSE also noted gains in the Banking, Development Bank, Hotel and Tourism, Hydropower, Mutual Funds, Non-Life Insurance, and Trading sub-sectors, adding positive momentum to the market.
